The alternative lender has secured an initial £20 million revolving borrowing base facility from Secure Trust Bank, alongside a further £30 million accordion option. The additional funding will support the continued expansion of Momenta’s property lending business, providing capital for property acquisitions, refurbishment projects, development finance, bridging and development exit funding. Momenta said the facility will also provide greater capacity for its broker partners to fund viable property-backed transactions and structure finance around individual client requirements. Steven Oliver, Head of Real Estate at Momenta Finance, said: “The property market continues to present a wide range of opportunities, and we want to be in a position to support our broker partners and their clients when those opportunities arise. “Our approach is centred on understanding the wider picture behind each transaction – the experience of the borrower, the fundamentals of the project and what is needed to move it forward. That understanding is key to building strong relationships and finding practical funding solutions. “This latest development in our funding platform supports our long-term ambitions for our real estate lending business and our commitment to being a dependable partner for brokers and property professionals.” The Secure Trust Bank agreement is the latest addition to Momenta’s network of institutional funding relationships. Since 2023, the lender has raised more than £400 million through facilities with banking and institutional partners as it seeks to diversify its sources of capital and increase its lending capacity. Jake Trehaeven, Capital Markets Director at Momenta Finance, said: “This new facility with Secure Trust Bank is another important step in strengthening our funding platform and will give us additional capacity and flexibility as we continue to grow. “We have built strong relationships with a range of institutional funding partners, and this facility further validates and strengthens our platform. It gives us the capacity to continue deploying capital into the market and supporting our broker partners and their clients as opportunities develop across our real estate and wider SME lending offerings.” Lisa Laverick Editor - Finance Connect Sign up to our newsletter Featured Stories Commercial FinanceMomenta Finance provides £150,000 for visitor attraction expansion Commercial FinanceFunding Circle profit quadruples to £24m as SME lending grows Commercial FinanceDNA Payments partners with iwoca to expand SME funding options
