Associate Member Associations LAMA to explore classic and specialist car market at event Published: 17th August 2026 Share The Leasing & Asset Management Association (LAMA) is set to bring together leasing, lending and asset finance professionals for an event examining the market for classic, high value and specialist vehicles. Taking place on Tuesday 29 September at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London, the LAMA Classic, High Value and Specialist Cars Event will explore changing vehicle values, buyer demand and the role of market intelligence in managing specialist assets. The event comes as alternative and specialist assets become an increasingly relevant consideration for lenders and leasing companies. In contrast with mainstream vehicles, the value of classic and specialist cars can be influenced by factors including provenance, rarity, originality, specification, collector demand and wider market sentiment. For finance providers with exposure to these assets, understanding these factors can be particularly important when assessing residual values, managing portfolios and considering asset risk. The evening will feature presentations from three organisations operating in different areas of the specialist vehicle market. Trade Classics, an online auction platform specialising in classic and performance vehicles, will draw on its vehicle sales data to examine auction trends, buyer behaviour and the factors currently influencing values. Graeme Hunt Ltd will provide a dealership perspective on the collectors’ car market, including changing patterns of demand and the types of vehicles attracting buyer interest. The Classic Valuer will complete the speaker programme with a data-led assessment of valuation and pricing trends across the market, including areas currently demonstrating stronger momentum. Tim Howard, Managing Director at Hickman Shearer, said: “The market for classic, high value and specialist cars is fascinating because value is driven by so much more than the vehicle itself. “Provenance, rarity, condition, specification and, perhaps most importantly, changing buyer sentiment can all have a significant impact. “We wanted this LAMA event to bring together some of the leading voices in the market and to give those attending the opportunity to hear directly from the industry experts. “It will be such an informative and enjoyable evening, as well as a great opportunity to connect with others working across the sector.” The event will begin with a drinks reception at 6.30pm, followed by a three-course dinner and presentations from 7pm. It will also provide an opportunity for professionals from across leasing, lending and asset finance to network and discuss developments in the specialist vehicle sector.
