Corporate Member News Expert Lending secures funding line from Renaissance Asset Finance Published: 5th May 2026 Share Expert Lending has partnered with Renaissance Asset Finance to secure a new institutional funding line, marking a significant milestone in the lender’s expansion within the bridging finance market. The funding comes from Renaissance Asset Finance, part of Arbuthnot Latham, and is expected to support Expert Lending’s ambitions to scale its operations while maintaining its relationship-driven approach to lending. Founded by Bruce Burkitt, the business combines a hands-on model with more than three decades of property and finance expertise. Since launching its Mayfair office in May 2025, the lender has deployed over £15 million of its own capital, building a performance track record and refining its underwriting strategy ahead of bringing in institutional support. The new facility will increase lending capacity, fund further investment in operational infrastructure and support continued growth across the professional borrower market. Expert Lending has positioned itself as a dependable partner for borrowers, emphasising certainty of execution and strong client relationships. Bruce Burkitt said the partnership reflects the firm’s disciplined approach to growth. “Partnering with Renaissance Asset Finance marks an important step in our growth and we’re pleased to be working with a funding partner that aligns with our vision and supports our growth ambitions,” he said. “Since launch, we have deliberately deployed our own capital to prove our underwriting model and build a clear performance track record. The quality of our current origination pipeline and the discipline of our credit process have naturally attracted institutional interest. This facility enables us to scale responsibly while maintaining the speed, transparency and alignment that define our approach.” Duncan Childs, Director of Wholesale Finance at Renaissance, said the lender had demonstrated strong fundamentals in a short period. “Expert Lending has built a compelling platform in a short period of time,” he said. “The team’s extensive experience across the property market, built over more than 30 years, combined with a strong governance framework and robust underwriting standards, gave us strong conviction in supporting the business.” He added that the partnership would support Expert Lending’s continued expansion in the specialist finance sector. With institutional backing now in place, Expert Lending is expected to accelerate its growth trajectory while maintaining the disciplined credit standards and operational approach that underpin its model.
