Appointments Sponsored by Receivables Finance Appointments Ed Rimmer appointed Chair of Receivables Finance Connect Advisory Board Published: 4th March 2026 Share CEO of Time Finance plc takes the chair as Receivables Finance Connect builds its Advisory Board and four industry councils Ed Rimmer, CEO of Time Finance plc, has been appointed Chair of the Receivables Finance Connect Advisory Board. The Board operates as a strategic advisory body, supporting the development and growth of the Receivables Finance Connect community. In his role as Chair, Ed will oversee the development of four dedicated working councils: Technology, Innovation, NextGen, and Intermediary. Each council will be formed with appointed leaders, focused work streams, and clearly defined objectives designed to address key priorities within the sector. Council leads will be announced shortly. From conversation to action Last November, Receivables Finance Connect brought senior leaders from across the sector together at County Hall, London, to examine what coordinated action could achieve for the industry’s future. The Advisory Board and its four councils grew directly from those discussions. Ed Rimmer has spent 30 years in the receivables finance sector. He takes the chair because he believes senior people in this industry have a responsibility to engage fully in its future, not just observe: “We can all sit on the sidelines. But is that right for someone who’s lived and breathed this industry, who’s been given so many opportunities to succeed? Do you just stand back or roll up your sleeves and get stuck in? I came to the conclusion that I’d far rather give something back to the industry than simply be a dissenting voice on the outside.” Purpose before everything Ed is equally clear that the Advisory Board will only justify the commitment of the people on it if it is focused and held to account for what it delivers: “The first meeting starts with defining a North Star for the Advisory Board and establishing a focused work stream for each council. This isn’t a talking shop. We’re here to get things done, with people who genuinely care about where this industry goes next.” The value of working together Ed is just as passionate about the value of working together: “Innovation is a lot easier when you’re bouncing ideas off people in your sphere. Rather than two or three ideas in one business, you’re bringing thirty together. The grey matter, the ideas, the people, that’s where the real value is. If we can create a strong community, particularly for the newer people coming through the industry, they can have their own peer group. That’s really important.” Get involved The four councils will shortly be recruiting senior participants from lenders, intermediaries, advisers, and private equity sponsors. Two early initiatives are already under way: a UK market size study and a plain-English digital glossary designed to simplify industry language for customers and advisors. Ed Rimmer concluded: “If you’ve got a passion for the industry that you’ve been brought up through and been given a lot of opportunity from, now is the time to give something back. The industry is at a crossroads. What happens next is down to us.” Mike Symes, Community Leader at Receivables Finance Connect, said: “We are delighted that Ed Rimmer has agreed to chair the Advisory Board. His experience and strategic leadership will ensure the Board provides effective oversight across all four councils, delivering coordinated action and tangible impact for the industry.” To find out more or express an interest in participating, contact Mike Symes at mikesymes@finance-connect.com or Edward Peck at edwardpeck@finance-connect.com.
