Close Brothers’ Energy team funds construction of Ilton solar farm

Close Brothers’ Energy team has provided financing for the construction of 8 Minute Energy’s Ilton solar farm.

The plant – located in Somerset – has a capacity of just under 2MWp and will provide clean, renewable energy direct to the local grid, improving energy security. It will also support biodiversity by maintaining a wildlife-friendly design while using low-grade farmland.

Gareth Palmer, Head of Sales for the Energy team at Close Brothers, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with the team at 8 Minute Energy on this project.

“The impact of Ilton extends beyond the supply of electricity by encouraging local investment and jobs to the area. This is a great example of our willingness and ability to support renewable projects of all sizes as the UK works toward meeting its net zero ambitions,” he added.
