Bullet Express expands fleet with Asset Alliance Group

Bullet Express has once again turned to long-standing supplier Asset Alliance Group for new rigid trucks and semi-trailers, following a significant business win in the automotive sector.

The logistics, distribution and storage specialist has taken delivery of six 18-tonne DAF LF 260s – comprising three box bodies and three curtainsiders with cantilever tail lifts – to service the new contract, which began this summer.

The latest deal also includes two straight-frame box body Lawrence David semi-trailers and two moving deck box body double-decker Tiger Trailers, all fitted with cantilever tail lifts. The vehicles are supplied on a three-year contract hire agreement with full repair and maintenance support.

Bullet Express Group CEO John McKail, who led a management buyout of the Bothwell-headquartered firm in October 2023, praised the long-term relationship with Asset Alliance Group.

“We have worked with Asset Alliance Group for many years. Genuinely, for me in Scotland they are the best at what they do,” McKail said. “I can’t speak highly enough of people such as Dougie Bennett [Business Development Manager at Asset Alliance Group] who work hard to personalise the account to suit our business’ needs.”

The additions bring Bullet Express’s fleet to 142 vehicles, with the majority supplied through Asset Alliance Group during a partnership that spans nearly a decade.

McKail said the company’s growing focus on contract logistics – now accounting for up to 70% of revenue – has allowed it to confidently invest in assets backed by secure long-term work.

“Asset Alliance Group always delivers a competitive deal,” he added. “However, just as our business is increasingly about long-term partnerships and the extra value we can deliver for our customers, when it comes to sourcing vehicles, it’s no longer about simply striking the cheapest deal. We’re looking for more, in this instance, trucks with customised tail-lifts to ensure we deliver and collect automotive products in a safe manner: and we welcome the reliability and valuable support that we get from Asset Alliance Group.”

The new vehicles feature liveries designed by Zero Seven Graphics in Clydebank.

Bullet Express serves multiple sectors including automotive, aviation, FMCG, retail, construction and electronics.
