Community AFPA Trust BIG Cycle riders gear up for London to Paris challenge Published: 22nd September 2025 Share The AFPA Trust’s BIG Cycle is bigger than ever. Taking place from 2nd to 4th October 2025, the event has captured the imagination of the asset finance industry, with an impressive 18 riders signed up to cycle from London to Paris. The largest-ever organised tour cycle ride in the asset finance industry, this year’s route takes riders from London through Dover, Calais and Amiens, before finishing in the French capital, which is the longer 300-mile route. Along the way, participants will not only face the physical challenge of the ride but also enjoy a spirit of camaraderie, professional networking, and above all, the chance to raise funds for charities close to their hearts. It is anticipated that close to £40,000 will be raised for 14 charities. And the community spirit is clear when you look at the charities being supported this year. Riders are fundraising for causes ranging from mental health and hospices to music therapy and cancer support: Robert Taylor – Nordoff & Robbins Music Therapy Mark Lyons – Unbeatable Eva Foundation Dominic Hughes – Richmond Borough Mind Don Brayshaw – Charlie’s Promise Edward Thompson – AFPA Trust Isaac Kennedy – Coach Core James Rudolf – Motor Neurone Jim Higginbotham – Unbeatable Eva Foundation Justin Hubble – Challenge 51 (Royal Marsden) Peter Golding – Royal Marsden Stuart Williams – Lindsey Lodge Hospice Tim Canham – Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Philip Benke – St Michael’s Hospice Ben Nadel – Tommy’s, the pregnancy and baby charity AFPA Trust Chair Robert Taylor, who is also taking part in the ride, said: “The BIG Cycle is more than just a ride; it’s about personal challenge, community spirit, and raising vital funds for charities that really need our help. “I’m proud to be riding alongside so many colleagues from across the industry, and together we’ll make a real difference.” With AFPA Trust already having donated £43,000 to 18 charities in 2025, this event will push that total even higher – delivering tangible impact where it’s needed most. All donations are gratefully received and will directly help support the charities chosen by the BIG Cycle Riders.
