The scheme, available through the Octopus Fleet platform, brings together participating public charging networks to reduce the cost of operating commercial EV fleets and give drivers greater access to discounted charging while on the road. MFG EV Power, IONITY and Be.EV have joined FleetBoost as launch partners, providing access to thousands of public chargers across the UK. Octopus said further charge point operators are expected to join the scheme. According to Octopus Fleet analysis, 99% of UK areas covered by FleetBoost are within 14 miles of an eligible charge point, while 95% are within nine miles. FleetBoost forms part of Octopus Fleet’s wider fleet management proposition, which combines services including home charging reimbursement, public charging and a Visa-backed Fleet Card for businesses operating mixed fleets. Matt Davies, Founder of Octopus Fleet, said: “We know that switching a fleet to electric is about much more than putting an EV on the road – businesses need charging to be affordable, reliable and easy for drivers to use, and we’re tackling this all in one go. “By bringing together some of the UK’s biggest charging brands, we can help accelerate the transition to commercial EVs and slash the cost of public charging for businesses.” Martin Symes, EV Director at MFG EV Power, said making public charging affordable was an important factor in supporting fleet electrification. He added: “MFG is proud to be a founding partner, providing cheaper, faster, more reliable charging is how we accelerate the UK’s switch to electric.” Andreas Atkins, Country Manager UK & Ireland at IONITY, said: “For businesses running electric fleets, convenient and reliable public charging is essential to keeping drivers moving. “We’re pleased to support the Octopus FleetBoost scheme, giving more fleet drivers access to IONITY’s high-power charging network and helping them spend less time charging and more time on the road.” Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, added that the scheme would give businesses greater confidence in the availability and cost of public charging as they transition their fleets to electric vehicles. Octopus Fleet currently supports businesses across the UK and 13 European countries, while the wider Octopus Electroverse network provides access to more than 1.5 million public charge points from over 1,600 charging brands across 40 countries.
