Holman UK has announced the appointment of Nick Hay as Managing Director, as the vehicle management, leasing and fleet solutions provider continues to strengthen its position in the UK market.

Hay joins the business with more than 30 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, having held senior leadership roles across a number of major organisations. His previous positions include managing director of Samworth Brothers Distribution, Chief Executive Officer of Fowler Welch for a decade, and most recently CEO of supply chain specialist Gist.

The appointment follows a planned leadership transition at Holman UK after former Managing Director Nick Caller was promoted to a role at the company’s global headquarters in the United States. During the transition period, Rick Tousaw, Executive Vice President – International Operations, oversaw the UK business, while David Hunt served as Interim Managing Director.

Commenting on the appointment, Tousaw said: “We are delighted to welcome Nick to Holman UK at an important stage in our growth journey. I also want to personally thank David for his leadership and steady guidance during his time serving as Interim Managing Director. His impact on the business, our Partners, and our continued progress has been meaningful.”

He added: “As part of that transition, David will return to his role as Chief Operating Officer, where he will continue to support our large corporate clients and work closely with Nick to maintain continuity and momentum across the business.”

Hay joins Holman as the company continues to expand its capabilities across vehicle leasing, fleet management and lifecycle services. His extensive experience in fleet operations includes overseeing in-house vehicle maintenance units at both Samworth Brothers and Gist, providing a strong operational background that aligns closely with Holman’s service offering.

Tousaw said Holman’s approach centres on helping businesses gain greater visibility and control over their fleets by integrating every aspect of vehicle operations, from acquisition and maintenance through to disposal.

“Holman helps businesses understand their fleets more clearly and run them more effectively and efficiently. Central to this is bringing together every part of the operation, from buying and selling to driving and servicing,” he said.

“Nick brings decades of experience leading complex logistics operations, where delivery and execution are critical. We are delighted to welcome someone of his calibre to the Holman team.”

Hay officially took up the role on 8 June and said he was excited by the opportunity to lead the business through its next phase of growth.

“This is the most excited I have been about a new role in many years,” he said. “As I have got to know Holman, I have been struck by the strength of its culture and the real value its services deliver for customers.

“Combining that culture and service offering with long-term ownership creates a strong foundation for growth. I am looking forward to getting to know the team, our customers and our suppliers as we continue to strengthen Holman’s position in the UK.”
