Humax and Paua simplify EV charging for fleets

Humax EV Charging has partnered with Paua to help UK fleets simplify electric vehicle charging by bringing home, workplace, public and depot charging together into a single connected platform, reducing the complexity of managing fleet charging and reimbursement.

Using ISO 15118 technology, the Humax MX7 smart charger automatically identifies compatible company vehicles (Vehicle Identification) when they are plugged in at home, enabling Paua to capture accurate charging data and reimburse drivers based on actual energy usage – without manual submissions, mileage estimates or complex expense claims.

Humax says many organisations continue to rely on separate charging providers, reimbursement tools and reporting systems, making it difficult to gain a complete view of charging activity while increasing administration. By working with EV charging payment platform Paua the collaboration provides a single solution that enables fleet operators to:

• Automate home charging reimbursement using actual charging data.
• Accurately distinguish company vehicle charging from personal household EV charging.
• Manage charging across home, workplace, public and shared depot locations through one platform.
• Gain centralised visibility of charging activity, costs and reporting while reducing administrative effort.

In addition, the partnership lays the foundation for wider intelligent fleet charging. Later this year, Humax will expand its commercial charging portfolio with a new 22kW AC charger for workplace and depot environments. The charger will use the same intelligent vehicle identification technology, enabling charging sessions to be automatically linked to individual vehicles across every charging location.

By combining intelligent charging hardware with fleet-first software, Humax and Paua aim to help organisations simplify today’s charging operations while creating a scalable platform for the next generation of connected electric fleets.

It’s more convenient for drivers, reduces downtime and makes day-to-day fleet operations more efficient. However, it also creates new challenges around accurately identifying company vehicles and reimbursing drivers for the electricity they use.
