Odessa introduces code-free platform configuration for asset finance teams

Odessa has launched Configurable Attributes, a new capability designed to give asset finance providers greater control over their platform architecture by allowing them to make structural changes without custom coding or vendor involvement.

The new functionality enables organisations to create and manage business-specific data fields that become instantly available across the Odessa platform, including APIs, reports, data extracts and business rules. The company says the capability allows lenders to adapt their systems more quickly while maintaining governance, consistency and auditability.

Joe Juliano, CEO and President of Odessa, said the launch addresses one of the long-standing challenges facing enterprise software users.

“One of the greatest challenges in enterprise software has been balancing flexibility with governance,” he said. “Configurable Attributes gives clients the ability to adapt the platform to their evolving business needs while maintaining the control, consistency and oversight required of a mission-critical platform. Instead of shaping their business around what the software allows, they shape the software around how their business runs.”

The release is aimed at helping asset finance organisations respond more quickly as they expand into new asset classes, products, geographies and regulatory environments. Traditionally, adding new data fields has often required software development resources and lengthy deployment cycles.

With Configurable Attributes, authorised administrators can create and manage new fields through a self-service process, eliminating the need for professional services or software development. Because the changes are configuration-based rather than custom code, they remain upgrade-safe while providing a clear audit trail.

Odessa says every configured field is immediately available throughout the platform, allowing businesses to integrate new information into existing processes without delay.

The capability enables organisations to expose newly created fields automatically through the Odessa API, simplifying integration with external systems such as CRM platforms. It also extends the reporting data model, making new fields immediately available for reporting and downstream data extracts, while allowing organisations to incorporate them into pricing, approvals and workflow automation without writing code.

The company believes the enhancement will be particularly valuable for banks responding to evolving regulatory reporting requirements, captive finance companies launching new products or entering new asset classes, and independent lenders expanding into new sectors without increasing their reliance on IT resources.

“Asset finance moves fast, and our clients shouldn’t have to wait to keep up,” Juliano added. “Configurable Attributes removes the weeks – sometimes months – of waiting. Clients can make the changes they need and promote them to production right away, allowing their business to move at the speed opportunities demand.”

Configurable Attributes is available immediately to Odessa customers worldwide.
