Borough Broth secures invoice finance facility from eCapital

UK-based organic bone broth producer Borough Broth has secured an Invoice Finance facility from eCapital to support its expansion and product development plans.

Founded in 2015 by Ros Heathcote, the company began as a small kitchen project while she was working in data analytics. Heathcote’s interest in the health benefits of bone broth led her to establish Borough Broth, sourcing ingredients exclusively from British organic farms.

The brand has since grown into a leading player in the UK wellness food sector, with products stocked by major retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and Ocado.

With rising demand and long retailer payment terms, the business turned to eCapital to unlock working capital tied up in unpaid invoices, enabling faster reinvestment into production, packaging, and innovation.

“For a business like ours, which has grown organically over ten years, invoice finance has been fundamental,” said Ros Heathcote.

“It gives us access to funds as soon as we invoice, so we can reinvest immediately without waiting weeks or months to get paid.”

Liz Smith, Relationship Manager at eCapital, said: “Borough Broth is exactly the kind of ambitious, founder-led business we love to support. They needed funding flexibility to capitalise on growing demand without giving up control of their vision, and we’re excited to continue backing their journey.”

Borough Broth plans to use the funding to scale its operations, develop new products, and expand its retail footprint across the UK, with potential international growth opportunities under consideration.
